Our Wedding 12th April 2009 Amara Sanctuary Sentosa

Its been about a month since our wedding and we've just consolidated some of our photos. Our photographer just passed us our photos in digital format and thanks to my brother Eugene and my sisters Janice and Eunice, we've got quite a nice collection of photos.
I'm putting up just a few of them here first.

Good Friday, 3 More Days to go...

Happy Good Friday to all. Its just past midnight and we remember this day when our Lord Jesus Christ died for us.

Lynn and I actually chose 12th April without realizing that it was Easter Sunday. We had randomly decided on the date last year. We only discovered that it would be Easter Sunday after we had booked the
hotel and when organizers and diaries for 2009 were just starting to be sold last year.

Anyway, we just got our "Wedding Dinner" notice sorted out. Spent a few minutes cutting out some pap
er which I got from Bras Basah to use as a shiny greyish-bluish-metallic background. The notice itself we got from our printer who also did our cards as well as the programs. Flowers from our usual Florist. And frame? Guess where it came from....

We felt they did a super fantastic job!

Dinner Table Presentation

Seems a bit frivolous, but I drew out a diagramatic representation of our planned Dinner Table arrangement. Basically we're going to be having long tables. The tables are going to be joined together from the ends to make a whole long row of tables. The pic below is basically a "sample" of what one of these tables should look like. So, it'll be repeated tables of this arrangement. Table cloth will be black and the artificial flowers will be similar to what you see of our Ang Pow box below. Click on it to enlarge it for a clearer view.

I've also just drawn up a plan of the Solemnization area at the Glass Pavillion. Oops I forgot to annotate the red part there on the left behind the tree as the assembly area.

One More Week To Go.......

Ok we've reached the 1 week mark today. Things are more or less settled, but we need to work through some final details. Wanted to put up pictures of our prep all the way up to the wedding itself, but we've been busy with work and everything else.

At least we've settled our bridesmaids flowers and I've taken some pics.

Take a look!

Wedding Bells are Ringing.....

Haven't written anything for some time now. I wanted to put up some photos along the way but just didn't get the chance. But as the title says, wedding bells are indeed ringing for Lynn and myself and we'll be getting married on 12th April 2009, Easter Sunday.

It all started some time last year when we were looking at jewelery and we both saw and liked a ring which I ended up buying for Lynn. We decided there and then to get our wedding rings. After that, it was down to looking for a place and fixing a date for the wedding. We had intially thought of having it during the chinese 7th month or maybe earlier in the year and finally decided on April 12th without realizing that it would be Easter Sunday. So we had a pleasant surprise when we found out. For location, we didn't really explore many places. We had heard about Amara Sanctuary at Sentosa and decided to go there for dinner one evening. It so happened that there was a birthday celebration going on at the Glass Pavillion and it seemed like a really nice place to have a wedding. We decided to use the place and after that it was just to contact the hotel and make the arrangements.

Now about 2 weeks ago, 1 day before the last day of Chinese New Year, we decided to get our Ang Pow boxes decorated. We had bought 2 bright pink Ang Pow boxes earlier and we brought them to our usual florist. We chose some flowers and gave him room to make an arrangement for us. Take a look at the photos below. I think they look nice!

The strange thing is that on the next day, which was the last day of Chinese New Year, I got my first "Wedding Ang Pow" from my good friend Derek Yong. He's working and living in Australia and so he won't be able to make it for the wedding. Well, Derek drove all the way to my clinic just to give me the ang pow. He flew back to Australia that very night. Hey to Derek, Jane and Baby Joshua - THANKS!

Valentines Day flowers that I got for Lynn.

We took a hamper someone gave us for Chinese New Year and redid it with our florist. Same guy who did the Glass bowl container thing you see behind which is in our home photos.
